Default VIN NUMBER

Hi all,

I am trying to buy a timing belt tune up kit feom ECS. I need to figure out whether I have an "early" or "late" engine. I cannot make sense of the info on the site and ECS don't seem able to connect calls to their tech.

Can anyone shed any light on how best to determiine which motor I have? I presume it is obvious once I understand the VIN number codes, but I can't find a link to them either

Thanks

It's (engine code) also on the drivers side front corner of the valve cover under the plastic engine cover.
