VIN number?
In the engine bay of my car, there appears to be a very generic VIN number with a repition of three Zs in place of other numbers. The ending digits match and so do all the other locations for the VIN. Why did Audi do this?
example: engine bay: wauZZZ8dZta251455
Those Zs there are only seen in the engine bay and everywhere else, the Z pattern is replaced by a different sequence.
Any help?

The 4th-8th VIN number denote the body, engine, and series.
