I did a search and didn't find much. Where are you guys mounting the ballasts for the B6 model? I just installed the 10,000 HID's and they plug and played like a dream. Now just wondering where to mount the ballasts. Thanks in advance.

there should be an area to mount them on the bottom of the headlight housing

 

i have the b5 and mounted it under the headlights. From what ive heard, its prety much the same space for a b5 and a b6 under there. On one side it seemed impossible to get under there but after 20 minutes of trying every possible way i finaly got it. Btw, mounting it under the headlight would be your best bet. Some people mounted it on the back or just aside of the headlight and expierenced bad radio recption because of this. I have no idea why but more then one person had this problem.

 

on my b7 i installed one under the air intake and the other to the metal frame of one of the fluid reservoirs. i had a problem with radio reception at first, but once i connected a relay harness to the hid kit, the radio problem went away...

 

I installed the ballasts before i could read any of the replies because i was getting too impatient(i have no patience ). I love the color of them, not too blue but enough. Its a world of difference than my halogens! Here are some installation pictures and a picture comparing them with audi xenons.






They look a lot brighter in this picture than the stock xenons but only because im taking a direct on picture of my lights. They are pretty close to the same brightness.

 

Looks real sweet, ive heard this really is an easy mod, on a scale of 1 - 10 what would u rate this, i ask because i am not very mechanically inclined, i do what i can but its not too much and i want to do this.

 

1 being easiest its about a 2. The hardest part was finding a place for the ballasts. Everything really is plug and play. You have to drill a small hole out the back of the light cover too but really easy. PM and i can step by step it for you.
