I've been looking into Audi A4 Quattro's, and I've got some questions that I just can't find the answers for.

1.) I've read about a LOT of problems with the timing belt breaking 20,000+ miles before the Audi recomended checkup. Then, I saw a Class Action lawsuit against Audi where they have to pay for any engine damage resulting from the broken timing belt. Most of the cases I saw were cars with the 1.8t, but some were in the 2.6 v6. The news story about the lawsuit only mentioned the 1.8t. Does this lawsuit and broken timing belt problem only affect the 1.8t or is it both?

*just read around some more, good thing I did before I asked which engine I should get! :P*

How long will these cars last without having to do MAJOR repair? I've read that around 100k they need some engine work done, but what else is there? I'm just trying to figure out what the max milage I should be loooking at is.

just make sure the car either 1.8 or 2.8 has had its t belt done by 70k and you should be good
