The best mods for a V6 is to get light *** wheels and strip the car because unless you hit it with nitrous or a supercharger, your pretty much not getting anymore hp out of it.

Cold air intake, I haven't found one with a heat sheld so buya Ramintake which is the samething, and custom make the heat sheld. Or just use the Ram as it is, it sounds awesome after 3K.

Given the fact that there really aren't any good mods for low cost that will add power, why not look for another type of mod to do? I don't know what you're thinking about in terms of low cost, but what about the A8 brake kit plus some SS lines? Maybe swaybars? A nice grille? Debadging? There are quite a few things that you could do to your car, which even though they won't add power, they'll add performance in another parameter, or some extra style. Don't focus completely on the engine at the expense of all else, especially with a 2.8.

Heres a better idea. Sell it and get a 1.8t.

Ideally it would be a better plan but it's probably not in the cards, or he'd likely do it.

if cost is an issue, engine performance isn't for you right now.

you could go into suspension like Upstate said, but spending money on a car thats not going to do anything is pointless to me.

Depends on what is spent - getting an air intake won't really make any power, but there are still two reasons to do it - one is the sound improvement, and the other is the fact that he won't ever have to spend money on an air filter again, which over time ends up saving money - hard to argue against that.

And I definitely stand by my other ideas - suspension, braking, etc. Maybe a set of HIDs, which will give you style and increased safety at the same time.
