Default warranty issues?

Does anyone know if Audi covers a new cluch? Naturally a clutch is a wearable item and its not covered. However, my 2005 has only 26,000 miles! They took down the tranny and said it was bad. My question is, there must be a part in there that failed and f/d up my clutch. I have 2 other cars (1 being a 97 A4) that have over 150K on the same clutch.

It didnt slip or have any warning signs of it going bad. It just quit

What warranty do you have? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but if you have at least your tranny warranty your clutch should be covered.

its a leased 2005 A4. they want to charge me $2600 for a new clutch. I feel under normal driving conditions, this clutch in a brand new car shouldnt be bad. something just isnt right. maybe if I drove it around an indy track for 500 laps it may be bad, but not normal driving.

how can i argue with Audi so I dont have to pay to fix it?

it depends on the condition of the clutch they can tell if it is abuse or not

yes i agree but that subjective. if they think it abused and was drivin hard, they need to look at the brakes, tires, etc. they are still all the first set. its maintained by Audi. 3 months ago, they wrote down clutch was working properly on the work order

I personally cant see them charging you with the car being 1 year old and low miles and a good service history, no dealer in their right mind would try to pull a fast one there I would say a clutch malfunction and it should be covered by the warranty
