Default Water pump for 2001 A4 1.8T

A local mechanic have given a price to replace the Timing belt and water pump for $XXX. I asked if the water pump he is replacing was an Audi part and he said it was made in Germany for Audi. Does anyone know of the name of a brand that Audi used for the water pump? I am sure some of you have changed yours and know what you got. Your help will very much appreciated.

you can buy the timing belt/water pump that I used to replace mine at www.ecstuning.com. They sell the kit with everything you need. Just buy that and bring it to the mechanic to install.

Hey dudley,

Brrrrman is totally right. I just had the whole shebang done (t-belt, pump, tensioner, etc..), and I DIDN'T just buy the kit and bring it to the mechanic. I would have saved well over $200. Get the kit from ecstuning.com and just take it to the mechanic. The ultimate kit is only like $265, and my mechanic only charged like $345 for the labor. Good luck!
