Sounds like the air conditioning drain tube is clogged. You need to look under the car and locate the drain tube and trying clearing it with maybe a wire.

Not sure what year or transmission type your car is, but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the triptronic computer is underneath the floorboard of the passenger side. If this applies to you, be REALLY careful because you definitely do not want to replace that sucker.

The drain for the drip tray of the air conditioner is probably plugged. See the first response and stick a wire or wire hanger up the drip hose from underneath the car.

Not to sure but think the heater core is on the right hand side of the car (Drivers side in Australia). The 96' didn't come out with TipTronic so that will be fine, but if it is your heater core.... Ouch. Dash has to come out.

I had this problem, just got it fixed. Took it in to one dealer, they replaced my drain hose. Next day after running my ac and driving it was pouring again. So I took it to another dealer, they couldn't make the ac leak. I got my car back and drove it around and then it started leaking again so I took it into the second dealer again and showed them. It took them 2 days but they found out it was my evap. box not draining. Problem solved. hope that helps

See notes above. It could have been fixed for free by pushing a piece of wire or straightened hanger up the drain hose. You know it is cleared when a gallon of water pours out.
