on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the hardest and most time consuming) what would you guys rank doing a waterpump and timing belt change?

 

about 5 because its a fiddly job

 

Depends on how inclined you already are... If you are used to only changing oil and flat tires, it would be a 10. If you do brakes/valve cover gaskets/turbo replacments it would be a 3. As long as you have detailed directions and the tools necessary it shouldnt be to difficult even if you are a novice, it just may take you longer than others.

 

thanks...doesn't sound like it would be too hard, i'm not retarded or anything, i'm actually pretty good with cars...the only thing is i don't know if i would have all the tools. i've got basic tools, but i could probably borrow them if i needed to. thanks guys

 

They main tools youll need that a lot of people dont have are allen wrenches and torx bits.

 

its say 5-6. its not hard to do BUT if u do it wrong.....ur gunna pay big time.
