Weak Alarm Solutions
Well like probably many of you, the alarm on my b5 sounds totally pathetic. I've done the searching and instead of getting an aftermarket system (broke college student) I could probably change the siren itself to one with a higher db output. The question is where to find one. The only one I saw was this and the website looked kinda sketchy.

I just want my alarm to be loud enough to actually wake me up at night, kinda like my neighbor's which keeps going off at four in the f*@%!^g morning, nobody wants to steal that piece of s*#t van! Sorry just venting.

I think if you just replace the siren, you should get a better response.
Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/12V-6-TONE-CAR-A...QQcmdZViewItem
I don't know about that ebay one nor endorse it, but just as an example I googled "loud car alarm siren".
