I bought this A4 a while back from this guy that recommended this forum to me but never really got around to posting. heres my problem. ever since i bought this car it has had a weird sound to it at idle. it kinda fluxuates almost like an old muscle car (only w/o the nasty exhaust smell that the muscle car has) and also the car seems to have no power till about 2800 rpms. and no its not turbo lag cuz the gauge reads full boost at like 2000. could something have been done to the motor? what would give this weird sounding idle. also the rpms fluxuates at idle

 

Yea im having the same problems too. I bought the car the first of this month and it has been to the shop twice already. whoever owned it before me had messed with the hoses which caused the car to cut off. I got this fixed but had to pay 163.xx cause they wouldnt cover it under warranty. i had to have the ne80 valve or something like that replaced which the fix under warranty. i still was getting a check engine light and turs out the dummy before me drilled a hole in the trunk that went through the gas tank so now it isnt pressurized and they claim thats y the light is on. 2200 bucks to fix so i have to live with it now. and now im having idling problems less then a week of it being back from the shop. same as you described. I love this car so much but it has been a p.o.s. because of the previous owner

 

it almost acts like its cammed. they make cams for a 1.8T
