Yet another Newbie post… I have decided to finally get my first Audi but in which flavor?
I’ve got up to $40,000 (AUD) to spend which means I’m probably looking at an A4 but I’m not sure if a 1.8T, 2.0, 3.0 etc is the best to get, as their seems to be some conflicting opinions on what is the better car.
I was looking at the 3.0 for extra grunt but have heard that their not as easy to mod?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Its the one you favor that matters.
Of course, if modding is one of your desires, the turbo car is the way to go.
Get a b7 2.0t. Make sure you get quattro, and a manual, and have a couple dollars left over for modding.

 

Are you only thinking about buying new? or would you consider used maybe a 04-05 S4? that would be killer. if you only thinking of new - get the 2.0T
