and how do I tell if its a 98.5 model - what is special about them?

98 Quattro 2.8 V6 manual, silver, 5speed, 138,000km (canadian car)

Drives nice, but needs:

-timing belt / water pump
-Rear brakes are grinding - metal on metal
-ABS light is on as well as (!) red light
-Fuel guage apparently jumps around erraticly sometimes
-Sunroof had problems closing

Guy is asking $9350 canadian... I was thinking $6000 is more like a fair offer given the amount of work the car needs.

 

I will sell you a A4 quatro 99 with 125,000 for 9 grand.

 

I have 98.5 2.8...for all those faults and mileage I wouldn't pay more than $4500.
