Comparing an Audi to a BMW can often be like comparing Apples to Oranges. How many doors do you want? How many drive wheels? How much power? Do you want bells and whistles? Nav? Etc.
From situation to situation, each brand can have an advantage. For my money, I'll take a $55k S4 over a $50k 335i, but it's all about the buyer. Go test drive a few and buy whatever suits you best!

A new Quattro A4 2.0T costs about $40 grand canadian. Optioned up with leather you are looking at about 45 grand.
The base 2.0T model with nothing is about $36 grand
And of course its a logical comparison to compare them to the BMW 3 series since they are direct competitors , marketed to pretty much the same demographic!!
