I'm driving a B5 1.8T manual and whenever I'm shifting my elbow keeps hitting the arm rest when its down. I'm pretty tall (6'2") so I usually end up leaving it up, but then have to bring it down when I'm in 5th so my right arm has something to rest on. What about you guys? Up or down?

 

I just leave mine down most of the time it doesnt seem to get in the way too much for me

 

shes always up for me, im a pretty tall guy also.

 

Mine's always up..but the couple times I've been on a long drive I've put it down. It gets in the way too much for me too to always be down and I'm 5'11'.

 

Mines all the way down (as opposed to the horizontal position).

Mines always down but its awkward when using handbrake,good job it only takes a little tug to be fully hard on .
( i am talking about the handbrake you sicko)

 

In my B6 its in the Horizontal position. I always keep my arm on it when driving. Never bothers me. Im 6'0 by the way

 

If you dont like yours ill buy it my 97 doesnt have one and i have a tip its killing me!
