It looks like a lot of people have varying opinions; could this be because the armrests are different heights for different years? I was just curious and have not seen enough A4s to know.

this is interesting...today i put mine down for the first time in awhile. I have a 98 b5...i love the way it feels when down...but honestly...i hate the way it is when i shift. I'm 5' 11" and its just not the same when shifting like down to second and 4th...

idk what im gonna do yet

I'm moderately tall too but i scoot up nice and close to the steering wheel and i dont usually have problems with the armrest. it's own most of the time, every once and a while i throw it up to give my self some room for hardcore shifting haha

Always leave it down i mean i'm a big dude to i'm 6'4 i just shift with a flick of the wrist and the only thing that sucks is i can't keep my coffee in the holder when its down i squish it.... it depresses me
