What do you think about this car?
lol, ok what i did when i bought mine from the dealer i knew what i was looking out for, i hope you know about cars. Timing belt should have been changed at 60-80K so ask for proof of this(includes the tensioner, waterpump, accessory belt, and idle pully), if timing belt hasnt been changed it will cost btw 600-1000 bucks. Also, there is no way to tell if the turbo will give out soon. It all depends on how the previous owner treated the car. It's kinda the luck of the draw I suppose. Control arms and tie rods are common failures on the B5 A4. And then if you know the 100 point inspection do that, check if there is oil sludge on the dipstick, and drive the car for about 30 minutes, make sure to test the motor by turning off/on the engine.
im right down hwy 37 from you in novato. Im in vallejo weekly , i have indoor soccer at Mare Island. And you know what??? I remember you from last year, we had a g2g at the golden gate park in August 2006, and you were supposed to show up but something happened to your ride. damn that was a long time ago, since then i sold my old car and got a better one.
im pretty sure you know that g2g means get together, as in a car meet. We have one once a month, plus there are smaller meets that happen weekly/biweekly in the bay area. Its usually mainly audis, but we have other euro cars show up too. We hang out, talk about the cars, eat lunch, go for a drive, etc. Its like a car show. As soon as you get your car, hopefully today, ill take you to one of these g2g's
Ok, just came back from the dealership. It was a good drive and looked great but the car smelled like the previous owner was a smoker. Other than that, they won't drop the price, even without changing the timing belt and water pump replacement. I think this is a pretty good car but the smoker's smell and TB & H20 pump is just the drawback.
Id keep looking.
I'm a smoker but never smoke in my cars because of the smell. This also drops the value of the car.
Most importantly the expensive over due maintenance makes it not worth it.

Cool.
I stumbled across another car. Haven't test driven it yet, maybe tomorrow, but looks and sounds all good except no Quattro.
I suppose I could live without it since it's mostly city driving for me(I know what your thinking, "SO!?!?!?!")
But what do you think? He's got timing belt, pump done, "new front end" is the front control arms. Anything I should be aware of buying a car that's been modded?
Oh, all if not most of the installation and work has been done by an Audi specialist/mechanic.
