Ok in about a month or so I am going to be getting a A4. What year should i get? I want something i can mod to look good handle well and race everyonce in a while. Im new to the Audi world so all help is appreciated.

get a '00 b5 1.8t (four banger), those are the most tuneable from what i've seen. the 01s come stock with 20 more horses (150-170), but i've heard that you can't modify the 01s as much for some reason, something about the ecu. if you don't want to do major modding, i'd say go with a 2.8 30v (v6). you can still get exhaust, intake, and a few other things, their interiors are nicer and theyre much more reliable than the 1.8t

 

I prefer the 99.5, the "facelift" b5 body style but still has the drive by cable motor

i say 2001 the 170hp engine in the B5 platform

 

i know you said A4....but have you looked into the S4 too...the $$ you spend to make the A4 a sleeper could be spent on the difference for a 2000/2001 S4 wiht like 50/60k miles...? just a thought

remember that the 2.8 has a supercharger if u wanted to go with one big mod.
