Timing belt - 700 - 1000 including parts and labor
Control arms 200 for an arm including the part. If you replace all the arms, then 500 for parts alone.
Sensors, depends what sensors go.
Wheel bearing 200 dollars including parts.

You would need to do all those in any high mileage car you would buy. Audi is a great car, but if you are worried about having problems with a used car, maybe you should go get yourself a bicycle. Or spend the extra money and buy a car with a warranty. Older cars are cheaper, so putting a little money into it wouldnt hurt. We have all done it with ours, but we still have them. Shows something...

I have 155,320 miles on my A4 2.8 Quattro and had a leak in the Rack. I priced a new one for $560 with the stablizer unit and found a use one for $150 without a stablizer. I bought the one without and put it on and can't tell the difference and no more leaks. Sometimes you get lucky and find good deals. I always have and thats why I still drive Audi.

If you do the maintenance yourself Audis don't cost much more to maintain than other cars on the road.
