what is this on my valve cover (electrical part)

Default what is this on my valve cover (electrical part)


it comes off one of the thick wires to coil 4 and is bolted to the valve cover, looks like its been melted and the wire was taped to it..

is it somthing i can order from an electronics parts place ?

ok i just talked to the local audi parts counter and they said its a power output stage? and its a $300 part? cant be right..
