what is this thing
the thing that sits below your air box. it is pretty much under your car and has a hard plastic hose that comes up and connects into the stock air box. what does this thing do? is it neccassary to have? can you relocate?
ok i guess i shouldnt describe it as a motor but as a container of some sort. it sits right in that space below the turbo and intercooler piping. it is below the cars structure when u take the stock air box out. i know a picture would help but really there is too many things in the way to show it and i have no camera. its a 01 so i know these cars are alot diff than just all the other years considering they had the most hp for the b5 platform.
Are you talking about this???

If so, that is the air conditioner receiver drier. And just because your engine has 20 more hp doesn't mean it is much different. It is essentiall the same engine.
