I was looking at the Audi S4 but i think it will be too expensive to tune/service etc.

I am looking at the A4 now but wondering which model is best for tuning?
What mods i need/price?
What power i am looking at on standard internals?
Year?

What mods you need depend on what goals you have.

Stock internals are good up to around 400hp, after that you need rods. Although if you've got the means to make 400hp you might as well build the engine anyway.
