whats the best intake to get?
ya i know and its in the damn way of my hybrid bov too[:@] stupid emissions crap...i just dont know if i can delete it since it is hooked to my valve cover...i dont want it to over heat or something go wrong from deleting it.
isnt the 2nd pump for cooling down the turbo/turbos?
think in the 2.7tt setup it turns on when the car is turned off so it cools down the turbos properly. correct me if im wrong tho

evoms cai is like 250 im sure lltek is like 200 and a giac chip is around 500. i know what he asked for im just trying to help him better his money. cai dont do things like they do for other cars ok. like u have all said before the stock setup audi uses is good and i think should be messed with last when ur lookin to mod.

a) he (and many of us) can't afford a chip
b) he's already planning on a chip, just wants to add in intake

off the shelf intakes are garbage. I had the lltek one and had noticable losses. Then I routed the filter down behind the foglight (im 99.5 so no secondary air pump), and there was a little improvement over stock, not very noticable though.

I'm pretty sure the secondary air pump is emissions related. As far as the heat shield. I did have what lltek supplied if you want to call that a heat shield. Maybe with a better made heat shield the intake would work better. The cai I made was actually really loud, I'm not really one for show and bov sounds but this thing did sound cool as hell
It actually get injected into the intake manifold, thats why the idle is higher on cold start ups. It only stays on for about 45 seconds or so. If you look on a v6 engine the secondary air combination valve (its what allows the air to enter) is located on the backside of eash cylinder head. Its a silver canister with a vacuum line attached and a plastic or metal pipe routing to the cylinder head. (It varied on models and years) But most car makers route it directly to the exhaust system
