But if you get the K04 then dont you have to get a chip? If so you should get the turbo then save for the chip then put them both on at once

It doesn't just double the boost. You can't just turn up boost with a mbc, and see similar results. If you ask anyone, they will tell you it is by far the best bang for the buck. Oh, and you'll have much better luck buying a used chip from the for sale section in the forums, rather than looking on ebay.

 

The stock 2.8 is faster than a stock 1.8. It would take it off the line and all the way to 130.

Over this summer my friend and I had a chance to test this out. He has a stock 98' A4 2.8Q with a K&N airfilter and a shortshifter and I have a 2001 A4 1.8TQ all stock. We lined up at the light and I dropped the clutch at about 2200 rpm and had him the entire time. By 5500 rpm in second gear I was a car length ahead and he backed off. We raced for about 8 miles onto different thruways in and out of traffic, top speed was hard to judge since we were shooting gaps alot but he hung with me for all of that. I owned a 96 2.8 and the torque was far better but that turbo is where it's at - can't wait to chip it.

 

I wouldnt trade or sell my 2.8 for a 1.8, plus im only like 600 bucks away from the G2 kit
