I admit to all S4's that I have a 1.8t. Usually I'd have to wait for them to catch up before I let them know, though.

It's for better balance! If you have the 1.8T Quattro badge on one side, and then just the A4 badge on the other, your car is unbalanced!

i left my badges on my 2.8 cuz it matched the chrome rimz, tailpipes and mirrors
