Default Wheel offset for A4 B6 Sedan (2003)

Hi,

I intend to get the tyres (225/45/17) / rims (7.5" wide, offset ET35) combination for my ride. Can anyone provide their expert advice on whether the small offset i.e. ET35 will pose any rubbing problem with the wheels sticking out compared to stock? I am worried especially if the car is loaded with 3 rear passengers and driving over humps. I am on stock suspension.

if your suspension is stiff enough you shouldn't have a problem, just look at this photo

the rear tire is definatly past the fender

Thanks for the enlightment. I am on stock 15" with ET45 offset. I was told previously that the stock 17" is also ET45!

Regarding the configuration: (225/45/17) / rims (7.5" wide, offset ET35),

have you had that configuration before or anyone else having that for the A4 B6 sedan? Any rubbing problem with stock suspension?

Many thanks in advance!

I am using non-sport stock suspension. Yes, I have seen some pictures, there will indeed be a big clearance between the fender and the tyres but isn't stock non-sport suspension softer? Does it mean it will be worse when loaded and going over humps? Looking at the 15" stock wheels, I can tell that the tyres can retract all the way inside the fender when the springs are fully compressed. Now with ET35 225/45/17 tyres, it looks like the tyres will be almost flush with the edge of the fender with may be just 5-8 mm to spare with. So I am worried that the edge of the tyres might rub against the fender liner (which I want to avoid trimming)

Are you also running on ET35 and your rims are 7.5" or 8" wide? Your car would be lower than mine since you are running sport suspension but your suspension will be way stiffer than mine. Did you roll your fenders? So what do you think since I have a big clearance but softer suspension?

Thanks.
