Default Wheel Sensor

On the B5 A4's whats the easiest way to remove the wheel speed sensor without damaging it? Manual shows a clamping sleeve, so it should just slide out with a little pressure right?

I wasn't able to pull mine out, so I hit the caliper
with a one pound sledge hammer to remove the
dust.

Did you have to replace the clamping sleeve?

They should slide right out for you. Mine came out pretty easily and my car is a rusty beast when it comes to anything in the wheel well (damn salt).

Some guys have had quite a hard time with the sensors. Some have even had to drill them out.

Hopefully you have no problems just pulling on them. If you do have trouble, you can try banging on the housing to try to free them up some. Also try twisting them to break them loose and then pull out.

Clean them well before you put them back in.
