I don't care what anybody says. The stock 15" wheels like that look like crap.

 

I won't mind the stockers too much once I get my car lowered. Not to thread-jack, but has anyone ever bought a used OEM sport suspension from Dad's Auto??

 

When I had my '01 I had the stock "15 wheels on it, and after a while, I thought they looked okay untillB5 drove by me with RS4 reps...

 

Yeah, I guess that would kind of alter my opinion, too. It's just the awkward ride height that really gets to me, though. I was sort of thinking of going with race springs for a while (which would look great, IMO, but wouldn't be very useful when snow comes around). Coilovers would definitely be the way to go if I could afford them.

 

To each their own man. I would get wheels before lowering, but that's just me. If you are short on cash for some wheels, check out craigslist.com for some cheap wheels(most likely with tires too). A while back, I bought 5 B6 17" sport wheels(5spoke) for 200 bucks with tires(which looked nice on my B5). I had those on my stock suspension before I got my B5 RS4 reps.

 

I am also thinking about the same thing for my 2001 A4, 1.8T Quattro, 15" especially to close that gap between tires and the curve. I went to a local European car mechanic and recommended to me to change shocks and spring bilsteim/PS2 tires, will cost about $4k. Do you think it is a reasonable price?

 

$4k?!? Holy crap!! Suspension kits are only $730...

 

yes, $4k for wheels, shocks, springs, tires (OEM PS2) and labor... so I decided to order wheels and tire my own and have them order bilteim shocks and springs.. I think that may bring down the cost abit.
