yes, $4k for wheels, shocks, springs, tires (OEM PS2) and labor... so I decided to order wheels and tire my own and have them order bilteim shocks and springs.. I think that may bring down the cost abit.

this place is going down hill, there is no one to enforce the proper way to do things anymore

the entire purpous of modding a car, is to make it perform better, care to tell me how 19 and 20 inch wheels do that ?
care to tell me how they do that on stock suspension ?
i fear the audi especially b5 scene is going downhill and becomming more about an extrovert statement, then what it should be, keep it clean, keep it simple.. ever day i fear of logging on and seeing another 96 12v front trac auto on 20's with an invader style bodykit and a huge wing on the back.
if you are going to mod your car, do it for more of a purpous then to look cool, do it for function
i miss this place when people stood up for the good of the scene.

If you choose to buy wheels for your ride, maybe some performance mods, so be it. Everyone is different, some people have style and others don't. I agree with the abovementioned statement, "Keep it clean, keep it simple". Style is the keyword that most people fail to apply when personalizing their vehicle. It's easy to buy parts and the latest sh*t, butmaking itall come together and looking great is the hardest. (Kids keepthe whale tails off the Honda Civics and leave them to the Porche's.)
I see automobiles as always needing subtle improvementsfrom the factory, whether it be a unfinished piece of plastic that should of been painted to anA/C vent that should of been chromed.
In my opinion,there isno point in performance modding4 cylinder A4, at the end of the day, it's still a four cylinder.Don't get me wrong, I love performance,thats whyI decided to purchasea new 2008 S5. That being said, I can guarantee you that commencement of paint mods, suspension and custom wheelsare expectedwithin the first month ofit sittingin my garage.
You know why? Because, stock sucks.

The thread starter said he wanted new wheels as opposed to the ugly stock wheels. lowering the car will not solve the problem of the wheels being ugly. It's amazing and unreasonable that anybody thinks that the stock "15 look good.
