Default Wheels and tires

I was hopingsomeone might be able to help me. I have gotten myself into a dilema because I recently purchased the repilica RS4 wheels (without tires) in the size of 18 x 8. and an offset of 35mm for my 2001 Audi A4 1.8t quattro. I got a good deal on them so I bought them. My question is that I want a tire that will not rub at eitherthe stock height or when I eventually lower it,and don't really understand the whole sizing thing. I was thinking of either going with 235 40 18 or 225 40 18...I know what the numbers mean but not sure how they tires <FONT size=1>will</FONT> fit. Any thing you can do to help me would be much appreciated.

22/40/18 is the same rolling diameter as stock, which is important if you plan to lower on a b5. if you have a b6 then 235/40/18 is the way to go.</P>

22/40/18

???

There are many combinations that will run on a lowered a4 b5. I know a guy running 235/35ET/19x8.5.
He's even got 265's on the rear!

If you plan to do a brake upgrade to larger calipers, you might want to be careful tho.<edited><editID>brrman</editID><editDate>38054.4560185185</editDate></edited>

I ended up getting 225/40/18 but I am still waiting for the tires...I have my rims now but they were damaged in shipping. Its not to bad but I don't want damaged product so I will have to wait and see what happens with them.

Well I got off the phone with the people I bought the rims from and they are sending me new ones and paying to pick up old ones.

nice. Always sucks to make such an anticipated purchase, giggle with glee, and then have then show up damaged. Props to companies that handle that situation quickly.

You will be fine with the 225/40/18. Post pics when you get the shoes on!
