when you start your car do you have to push the clutch in? mine starts without it being pushed in but on all the cars iv driven you have to push the clutch in or the engine wont crack. my cruise control is screwy and im thinking its either the cc switch or the clutch switch

Your car turns over without you pushing the clutch? You might wanna get that looks at.

Just makes sure you don't start it when it is in gear!

My parents old rabbit would let you do that and it would lurch forward like a banshee! lol

It should be a habit to push in the clutch to start it on a manual..

EVEN if you have it out of gear. Because maybe... JUST maybe, you dont have itout ofgear..

does it have a remote start, if so maybe the switch is bypassed for the remote start to work.

I knew someone that had a 97' A4 that didnt need the clutch in to start. HOWEVER, after awhile he didnt evn need the clutch to shift gears sometimes. Dont ask me how cause i have no idea, but i did drive it myself and thought it was F-ing halarious. Down fall was it didnt last long and jacked up the whole car. Its in the yard of all junk now so I would get it checked out man!

Check your clutch switch. My car starts without the clutch in, but I bet the clutch switch is bad or gunked up.

woode does your cruise control work?cause iv only seen the cc work one time when my friend was driving the car, hasnt worked since.

im borrowing the keys to my friends shop this coming weekend to do the 140k maintence (t-belt tenision, vavle cover gaskets, new o2 sensors, oil flush/change, coolant flush/change, fuel filter etc.) so ill check that while im working on it. hopefully i will have cruise control back when i drive home for spring break in a couple of weeks.
