I have a 2010 A4 (US). I have one of the insertable remotes, but would like another for my wife. My local Audi dealership is terrible and damn near useless, and so now I am here.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these either pre programmed to what my other one is, or even directly from Audi.

I have already searched the forums to no avail.

 

You can sometimes find remotes on ebay and such. No matter where you get the remote only an Audi dealer can code it to your car.

 

Be careful on ebay, all of the ones I saw on there were without the pc board internals. Metal blank was of course uncut. Most dealers won't promise that the key will work in the locks after cutting if off the original either. Due to the metal in aftermarket keys being a different material than the original Audi key. The a/m keys can chatter in the key machine and the result is a bad cut.

 

Thanks. The key cutting isn't what I am worried about. I have the insertable FOB, that doubles as the ignition button once inserted. The key inside of it is really just for the glove compartment, and doors if your battery dies.

I'm going to try an Audi dealership in a different city today. Wish me luck.
