I posted this on the 'zine a few weeks ago before i put my rear rotors on and i got a bunch of smartass answers like u should jack the car up and put stands next to the jack.. it will bend the rail under the car... and i also got answers like u shouldnt be working on ur car if u cant figure out how to jack it up but anyhow

in the back i found two piece of subframe or something just forward of the rear axles.. it was safe for me! lemme know what u find up front cause im doing front brakes in a few weeks!

Just did some coilovers on a B6. In the rear you can use a jack next to rail at the stock jack point. We put the jack stands on the subframe below the diff. On the front, put the jack on the inside of the rail and as par back as possible without it hitting any plastic. Place the jack stand towards the front of the car. It's really tight. We ended up using the stock screw jack to lift it because it's so tight.

Always use jack stands and engage the emergency brake

use the stock jackpoints, and on top of your jackstand place a piece of 2x4 to maximise surface area and minimize damage. that will also help with stability. Make sure you chock your wheels that stay on the ground
