So I've noticed recently that if I spin the car up to 5k, like on an on ramp the car makes a howl at that point. It's like a whine... No it's not the normal intake throaty noise. It does it all the way to the redline. I'm really stumped on this one.

 

car standing still reving to 5k sounds pretty normal for a turbo to do that or it could be belt noise

 

Might be belt noise...

No turbo here Dave!

It's only during acceleration. On decel it stops instantly, but if I get on it again the noise is there.

 

Ive heard of alternator bushings doing this since no turbo so belt tension could be the cause but just a guess
