the 350 to 396 that he is talkin about is a chevy thing (i think) As in a small block 350 ci to a 396 ci. If im right, then he doesnt know what he is talking about. I've heard of 350 to 383 kits, but a 396 is a big block, and a 350 is a small block.

 

LOL, I wish, thats def not gonna happen on the stock tall block. 400whp is def pushing it to the limits. If you do get into the audi/vw world you will quickly learn there is def replacement for displacement. All the guys I have spoken with, that have stroker kits or overbores on these cars so\ay the difference is not worth the money.

So much hostility... I wouldn't say the 'vette is a POS... I said I didn't like the styling... but get behind the wheel and it would surely put a grin on your face. There is a lot to be said to trash GM... but vettes are fun. They are sort of crude... but that doesnt mean that they can't perform. The C4 pulls over a G on the skidpad, if I am not mistaken... and the LT4 with a 6 spd makes for good times.

I think everybody should drive a corvette at some point... it is truly a bargain sports car. The new Z06 is a shining example.

Vettes are **** as FU(K. My buddy has one. They pull HARD and handle like they are on rails. But NOTHING can replace my Audi. I've driven them for years and I don't think I'll ever go to anything else

 

Find a B6 A4 that has run faster than me...I have tons of respect for Mike Hoods and Tom Ritts B5 A4, there have been several B5s that are solidly into the 12s even a couple in the 11s.

What I have is a show quality, tasetefully built Audi A4 (B6) that is the total package (brakes, handling and suspension). I think that 440 CHP on 95 octane is not to shabby and to back that up with a 12.88 (no timeslip, machine mafunctioned) and 6 seperate 13.0 timeslips and 11 other 13.1 pretty much sums up the reliabilty of my car. I have been pushing 400 plus CHP for well over one year and have never had a single hiccup except one breoken turbo stud.

You be the judge...as for everyone else, feel free to post up your timeslips (mad props to the faster B5s)






I'll never say my car is the fastest, but I am waiting for some timeslips from other B6 owners to be posted.

 

dont get me wrong. for a car as heavy as a a4 13's is respectable. i mean running 17's stock is pretty sad. but you want 12's or maybe even 11's. spray on that engine. you got forged internals that arent gonna break. your weak point will be your head gaskets so start out with a 50 shot. a 50 shot will give you about 75 more ftlbs of torque. then if after a day at the track it doesnt blow a head gasket step up to a 75 shot. then if that doesnt blow them step up to a 100 shot. when the head gasket does blow then rebuild the engine and go back to the next lowest shot

but please man. my car was running 13.0 with just exhaust and cam and put it to about 335 whp. guess what the total came out to? $800. I just think you picked the wrong car to drop 7 grand into and pull 13's.


oh BTW they make a 396 stroker for the 350. i know i have it.

get a buddy to weld you up a sheetmetal intake manifold and get rid of the restrictive stock peice. if you dont have anybody to do it for you ill do it. get you a 75mm TB too
