Who has the most miles?
Yeah, he can suggest anything he wants, but it's your **** that has to put the car back up on jack stands, take the wheels off again, and painstakingly raise or lower the perches until they are where you want them. Just get it close enough, get it back on the ground and start breakin em in a little like I'm doing. I'm not gung ho on making any precision adjustments until everything has a chance to settle. Did you do the install yourself too?
nice duburban! people tell me that it looks a lot newer than a 98. mine has decided that idling is largely optional. hopefully yours is more cooperative. vag-com and bentley repair dvd arrive tomorrow so i'm planning to talk some sense in to it this weekend armed with those tools.
With so many various models in this forum people should post their milage (meaning miles, not km) as well as the year/make/model of the car for a good comparison....
I'llshould hit 210,000 miles by the time I get home tonight from Buffalo.
1999 A4 1.8T Quattro/Manual/Sport
and in case anyone is wondering, 200,000 miles seems to be the life span of the sport suspension, but I'm sure the PA highways had something to do with that too
Last month picked up a 1997 a4 1.8t 5spwith 225k miles on it. Close to 227k on it now. Car is mint. Noone can believe its 10 yrs old. Previous owner told me original owner had crate motor put in somewhere between 70k and 90k. The motor looks brand new right now. Only problem is when going over bumps I hear a thud from the front drivers side, haven't figured that out yet. If it gets above 32 today i'll jack it up and take a look and change the transmission fluid, hope I dont need that special socket, If I do it'll have to wait for another warm day.
