I have asked this question before but I keep hearing ask your audi service dept. Well I called them up and I get "I dont know" EVERY TIME. If I put that chip in my car will it do anything to my warranty or harm my car?

An answer would be appreciated (yes or no)

Obviously if your horn breaks or sunroof cracks your warranty is still valid. On the otherhand, if the engine blows or the transmission breaks, they could claim that the stress of the extra HP was the proximate cause.

So, don't let them know you have a chip. The easiest way it to get a spare used ECU and chip it, and replace it with the unchipped box when you go in for service

 

get a used ecu and switch it u gotta be kidding, theres reflashing now, u can reflash the performance and stock mode anytime u want now but u have to buy the loader, i kno revo and giac have them but i dont kno about apr

switching your ecu is also not a sure bet also when they open it up and see that u removed it, they can also VAG your car and then is well say the car lost contact wit the ECU for a moment and that will let them kno you also got chiped

 

I thought the flash loading was for B6ers

 

So say i get i chipped and dont tell them...they would have no way of knowing? So i mean if my engine blows...would they cover because they didnt know it was chipped?

 

They can't tell if you have removed the ECU.

Contact between the ECU and car is lost when the battery goes dead .

Your car is a 2001, so unless you bought it with the Audi assured extended warranty, your warranty is about to expire anyway.

 

I did get the extended warranty upto 100k or 3 years... So they have no way of knowing? or i could just say it was the guy b4 me?

 

yea they should not know about it, and everything would be fine so dont worry bout it much, good luck with the chip
