I know the feelin dood,

because of an accident my insurance just went from $2600 per year to $6000 per year. I would just stop driving altogether but then my insurance wouldnt go down at all. Therefor I have decided to get a motorcycle for the summer months and bum rides in the winter lol. motorcycle insurance is only $305 per year, granted I can only ride it about 6 months out of the year, give or take.

here's an idea, stop speeding and crashing cars, then your insurance will go down. I know, that is a CRAZY idea, but the fact is, if you drive like an idiot, get a lot of speeding tickets, and crash a lot, it doesn't matter how old you are. your insurance is still gonna be high. I only say this because there is NO WAY your insurance company is dropping you for one accident. there is clearly more to this story.

He is going to have to sign something stating whether he has had any moving violations in the last year or somthing to that affect (or effect...who knows).

I just dont want to see the kid screwed over because he took advice from people (including me) who are not experts in this area. Everything gets checked and double checked. For the most part he is screwed no matter what because of what happened and because he will be sent to an assigned risk agent.

I am also concerned about the accident being deemed his fault because of his gayness, but I guess that is another thread. KIDDING!!!!!!! I am not saying he is gay, not that there is anything wrong with that......

one more thing, I didn't drive for 3 years when I was in college, and when I got my car and registered at at age 24 my insurance went WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY down from the last time I had a car registered 4 years before that. and needless to say my audi is much nicer and more valuable than my '96 jetta was. Not sure if its the same in every state, but in massachusetts if you have a drivers license and don't get any moving violations it counts whether you have a car insured in your name or not.
