Window/Door Rattle
My 2002 A4 has a rattle from the drivers door when going over large bumps, or when the weight shifts on the car. It doesn't make this noise if I wind the window down slightly.
I therefore think it is something to do with the glass in the window, which seems to be backed up from searches I have done on the internet.
Has anyone else had and cured this? I did see an earlier thread but this just ended without a solution.
Is there a quick fix using some form of lubrication rather than taking doors apart.
Thanks

i think the most common problem that can happen with the door/glass is the cable regulator breaking. is the glass still going up and down with out and hesitation?
i doubt just lubricating the channel that the glass is in as a quick fix will work, but if you do use some lube try a silicone spray.
is the rattle coming from the bottom of the door ( like a piece of something broken off ) or is it metal to metal, coming from the middle of the door?

Its definitly NOT going up and down at will, and isn't loose so to speak.
So its probably not the regulator.
It doesn't sound like metal to metal or like aything has broken off. Difficult to describe - more like a creaking caused by rubbing more than anything else.
