WINDOW REGULATOR HELP PLEASE!
Guys, My right front window will not close any more. I opened up the panel and my green plastic piece on my window regulator shattered causing my window to stay at the bottom.
1. Can I somehow prop the window to stay up manuallly without that green little lifter part?
2. Can I just purchase a new green little lifter part? Because I was told I have to get a whole new window regulator. just for that little green lifter.
Please Help Guys.

Better yet, if you can get ahold of one of the new metal pieces, use that one. If you replace it with another plastic piece, that one will eventually break as well. VW has a 7 year "targeted warranty extension" for this very issue... the plastic pieces become brittle and shatter. This happenned twice on my old VW. Too bad no Audis are included in this extension. I've been hearing numerous people on this site having the same problem. From my understanding, all VW cars 2003 and up have the new metal clip instead of the plastic clip, and this includes Audi as well.

my 97 a4 , you need to remove the screw in the handle, the handle sleeve, the two screws holding the door in where the handle is, and the two on the top sides of the door, and then you disconnect all the connectors. You undo the four torx bolts (keep the spacers) and remove the whole unit from the door and loosen the clamps on the glass, remove the glass, Drill out the 8 or so rivets, re-rivet the new regulator on, reassemble and it works fine. Have had to do it to both front doors so far.
