Windshield replacement - possible warpage?
I just had my front windshield replaced today thanks to some idiot tossing a rock into it Sunday night. On the drive home tonite, i noticed what appearsto be warpage all along the bottom edge of the glass as you look at it from the inside.
I suspect this to be a defect as i never noticed this on my oldwindshield. I tried taking pics, but you really can't see it via pictures, but it looks like it would if you were to look through an empty glass bottle.
Before i take it back to the shop, could someone take a look to confirm if theirs is like that, orif it should be crystal clear along this edge. The glass job is under warranty, but i'd like to know for sure before i raise a stink.
TIA

Mine is a little bit warped down at the bottom, but its really hard to notice. I would probably go back and talk to them about it.
BTW, where'd you go and how much $?

I went to Safelite which is literally right across the street from where i work.Called them at 10am today, dropped car off at1pm, and it was done at 3pm. How i love convenience.
Glass replacement was free.I pay a little extra for comprehensive, so i didn't have to pay any deductible. Ibelieve theinvoice they gave came out to something like $262 parts + labor.

safelite makes their own glass (cheap) keeps costs down and profit up. If youcar is less than 2 years old you can request to have an actual dealer shield put in, if not ask for Sekurit, ppg, or Sigla glass. also make sure they primed the scratches or your car will be rusting around the windshield soon enough. You can tell if they prime it by taking off the mouldings on the side of the glass, you should see some black residue of primer. If they didnt have them redue it.
Im a glass tech, and you would never imagine all the unseen damage cars have from windshield replacements. As an example i work on a 2004 accord which was already starting to rust because the winshiled was replaced incorrectly.

^^ thanks for the advice; especially regarding the primer. I'll peek at it first thing in the morning when there's light. I'm assuming theside moldings just pop on & off?
