Windshield Washer system not working
Hey all,
I have a 2003 Audi A4 Avant with windshield washer system failure. I used the system a couple days ago and it worked. Yesterday it stopped working. The wipers on both front and will work, but no fluid. I thought it was just low fluid, even though I didn't get a warning, so I topped it off yesterday and tried using it with no fluid coming out onto the windshield. Today, I found a puddle of windshield wash under my car. I do not hear my pump working when I press the button and I have checked the fuses and they are fine. I bought a new pump for $15 which I will try to attach tomorrow. Any other ideas what could be wrong? Have anyone else done this on the same car?
Thanks,
Fusion

The pump is now working. The windshields are getting fluid, the headlights are not. Read through the manual and it states that the headlights receive fluid with force from the pump. There is still leaking which are lateral of each other, so I'm thinking there's a centralized location of the leak and then the fluid travels to two different locations. Any ideas of where the central location of the hose is located? The hose is rubbed, so a the weater shouldn't make the hose crack, I'm thinking there's a plastic piece somewhere that cracked. Has anyone else had this problem?

The headlight sprayers are common failure points for a leak. Mine has been that way for a year and I know I can only fill the reservior half way or it will just leak out the headlight fixture. I was told eBay is a good source for replacements fairly cheap. Until you replace it, I would imagine you could just clamp the line ahead of the leak as long as there is still one fixture for the pressure to be relieved when you activate the system.
Is the puddle up front under the headlights or back by the pump?
Good time for this fix is when the front bumper is laying to the side during a timing belt service. That's what I plan to do at least.

you don't hear the pump, the problem may be a poor electrical connection at the pump or a bad pump.
greetings. My Gfriend's A4 wiper fluid was wkg, then not. pump makes noises, no puddles generated when pump is left on for 10-20 seconds, no visible leaks (how many panels under the hood, inside the fender to find a leak!!!). I have yet to check the fuse. I hope that is it cuz the fluid barely drizzles out, and fuses are an easy fix obv. Any other clues? any help appreciated!
ps it's above freezing so I am ruling freezing out. If it's clogged, which is unlikely cuz there is a filter at the inlet port, I wonder if the nozzles can be unplugged easily.....
