I've read the posts on the issue of the wiper blades
seizing and/or struggling; and I can't believe it's such
an expensive and labour intensive problem!!

How can this be chronic and Audi not entertain the
problem??

That problem is about number 25 on the list of chronic problems. How do they not entertain the problem? Is the car under warranty? If no, then they could really care less.

 

No warranty. But this is a very trivial problem to have for such an expensive european car!!

 

European cars break often and theyre expensive to fix. Thats just the way it is. But they sure are fun.
