Default wiring sound system

so i just wired up my a4 with a 4 guage wiring kit. i used to have a honda and that was pretty basic to wire the system. so i assumed it would be the same. i finished wiring it and i turned on my cd/dvd player and the sub wasnt on. the amp power protection light was on but not the sub. am i supposed to do anything else besides everything from the amp to the headunit (besides the power/ground of course)??? please let me know if you know anything, im dying to get this thing working!!!!!!! THANKS

If the protection light is coming on you must have a wire crossed or pinched. What did you ground to? Try changing your remote to the head unit.

i grounded to a screw under the back seat. thats all i could find. the remote is already going to the headunit. would the ground make the power light go on but no sound????
