Hey guys, I have been having a vacuum leak and I think I found it. I followed my crankcase breather ventilation line back around to under the intake manifold, and found out there is about three inches of the line missing. I am not 100& sure, but I believe that is the problem. Anyone with any ideas let me know. Do I need to replace the whole line(I haven't looked that close bc I have been working since 8 this morning and I am going out) from audi?

you should replace he whole line but you can piece one in

 

Just replace the whole line. That would certainly cause problems.

 

Would that be a vacuum leak? And any idea how much the whole line is?, or the exact name?

 

why would you get something from the audi dealer? im sure you can just go get some silicone hose and replace it w/ that...simple and inexpensive.

p.s, if you find anything broken/torn in the engine bay, i suggest you fix it.

 

It is a hard pipe line.....I dont know how hot it gets, and I dont know if the silicone will hold up. If I can do that it would make it easy, but Im still not 100$% sure what the line does.

 

u said its a crank case breather hose right? and i take it its on an aeb engine? if so thats not goin to be a vacum leak

 

The line goes into the intake hose and right under the im there is about three inches of the line that are just gone. There is oil around it too. I have obviosly been driving like this for a while, so Im not that worried about it, but I know it is not a good thing. I will fix it this week after my tests in school are through with.
