Default working on cv boot right now...need help update at the bottom

hey everyone, i made the trip back home (150) from school with my torn boot. jumped out and repacked it with grease every 30 miles or so. i got the collar bolt out, the pinch bolt (biggest PITA) and the control arms out. is the axle just supposed to pop off the hub now? or is it being held on by anything else? i recall something in the write up aboutthere being 2 bolts on the back of the hub, but cant seem to find that in the write up any more. any help would be appreciated, seeing as im at a stand still right now.

2 bolts on the back of the hub are for the calipers and dont need removing, hub centerbolt/ lower wishbone ball joint/ track control arm ball joint should be enough to remove the CV joint

got the axle free from the hub,and all went fine getting the joint to pop out, degreased it all and re packed it, popped it back onto the axle.Ive run into another snag now...getting the axle back onto the hub. It seems as if i dont have enough room to get the end of the axle over the rim of the hub and into the slot where it sits. and yes i checked to make sure the joint was pressed in all the way. any suggestions? anything you recommend i could loosen to get the axle to sit in the hub?

Turn the steering knuckle all the way. If you are doing driver side turn it to the right (as if you were turning the steering wheel to the right). It should go in with ease.

yeh thats how i got it out, but it doesnt seem to want to go back in. i thought it was because i didnt have the joint all the way in, but that isnt the problem. im contemplating disconnecting the axle from the tranny, and slipping it into the hub and bolt it back onto the tranny. any other ideas?

also would you recommend removing the lower control arms to get the whole hub loose, or unbolting the axle from the drive flange and transmission?
