u do need the DV
but i would just get the base chip and if im still under warrentie the (stock)

 

IL, MO mostly have 93 Octanes ...
Would 93 Octane chip do any harm, if I put lower octane in it, (only if I have to).

wouldnt suggest it as to the chip adjusts all the timing in accordance to the 93 octane.....so its assuming you put 93 octane in...and any less octane could cause detonation...wouldn suggest ever putting in less than premium in your 1.8T

 

Yes I have the stock option on my APR chip , I like it

 

I would keep the stock option and 93 octane program. I am kicking myself for not getting that stock option, it will help w/ gas consumption and make you not push it as much, w/ these d@mning gas prices.

 

Sounds good to have a stock option like that
