Im sure this qualifies as one of thoes "dumb obvious questions" but im new to Audi so im getting use to my car right now. I was wondering if i took the 12 valve 2.8L out of my 96 A4 and put in a 30 valve 2.8L or a 1.8 T from a 98 or 99 A4 would it fit? Would there be any special adjustments needed for either engine? Thanks.

 

You probably could, but it definitely won't be a simple bolt-on. You'll need the trans, ecu and a host of other accessories just to make it run. Just sell your car and get a 99.5 1.8T.
