Hi guys,im new here. I recently decided to get a used A4 (1999.5-2001)with around 60K+ miles after also looking at bmw 3 series.
Im looking to spend around 10-11k on the car total (including taxes,registration etc..)

I heard that the timing belt is one of the major problems with the audis over 60k miles.

Would it be possible for me to find an a4 that is the 1999.5 to 2001 design with around 60k+ miles for around 10-11k total price.(im in NYC but can travel to pick it up)
Also, is it a good idea to get some extended warranty program or just set aside about 1k for repairs.

you should be able to find something around that price, especially if you're willing to travel...timing belt job is ~$500-900 depending on where you go, come here first before you do it though, there are kits and write-ups that will save you hundreds on that if you're willing to do the work yourself..it's not very difficult.

Those type of cars are all over NY they just arent llisted all the time. You have to do some research and yes it may cause some headaches but the A4 is well worth the wait...
