Default WTF!!!!!!!!!!

So I get my short block I bought shipped to the shop and get my car towed up there. Then they tell me they can't do it because the water pump is in a different spot. Everything else is perfect. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!!!! So according to them the motor I bought is useless. Does this sound strange to anyone else?

Sounds like BS to me. Who cares if the WP is in a different spot so long as it's turning via the belt? I'd get that to another shop ASAP...

Just go to summitracing or jegs, and get an electric water pump. then you can put it where ever you want.

Same engine code and all? Its engraved on the block, you'd think the same engine codes would be the same.

Im guessing you bought an internal waterpump and your car is an external or vise versa

> 2000 external
< 2000 internal

You can make it work, but your going to have to do more work

VW/Audi Engine Info
-058 Block: external water pump
-06A Block: internal water pump
-Displacement: 1.8L (1781cc)
-Firing Order: 1-3-4-2
-Cylinder #1 is next to the timing belt
-All catbacks are 2.17"
-Oil Capacity: 4.6qt (4.35L)
-Head bolt size: 11mm AEB, 10mm all others
-Engine Mount Assembly/Mounting Info

Call GIAC directly. They said they do in fact have a K04 file for the 2000 tiptronic.

Im just read up and you have a ATW engine code that still uses a 058 block (the only other is the AEB) with an external waterpump and im guessing you got a internal waterpump engine (06A block). You should do a search on vortex in the 1.8t section. You can install it, just need to take care of a few differences (waterpump, crank pulley setup, sai and valve cover breather)

would the differences be a pain in the a$$? The shop said they could do but not sure if they want to : / So when you say search the vortex 1.8t section what should I serch for (remember I'm not mechanically savvy)
